Daily Puzzles to Play With Your Kids

Tui (9) and I often play through a few puzzles together in the morning over breakfast, or on weekends.

Searching for educational puzzle games for kids returns some extremely questionable results. So here are our favourites, the ones we keep coming back to.

  • Rigid Digit

Most of the time we see which of us can get the best time, but sometimes we put both our brains on the same puzzle and solve it together. Tui doesn't have a device, so she plays on my phone in Safari and I play on the installed version.

  • Minute Cryptic

One cryptic crossword clue a day. This one really gets the grey matter cooking!

  • NYT Games

We like to start with Strands, then Connections, then Wordle. We've been playing these less lately, though.

  • Double Take

A fun game about finding homonyms: words that sound the same but mean different things.

  • Anagramio

Unscramble the letters to find the word. Gets us in shape for Countdown :)

  • Spelling Bee Battle

A fun spelling game, though the American accent makes it even trickier for us!
